May 2025 provide you with beautiful memories and endless possibilities – Happy New Year!
Our residents and staff had a wonderful time celebrating Christmas Day at the home. There were presents galore, crackers being pulled left, right and centre, and big smiles on everyone’s faces the whole day.
It was a fantastic day that has created some lasting memories for all – we hope you all had as much fun as we did!
Bunkers Hill would like to wish all our residents, their families and staff a very happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year. Our residents have been looking forward to the festive season and so far it hasn’t disappointed.
We have had lots of Christmas activities in the home, which has looked wonderful with all the decorations. The smell of Christmas spices has also drifted through the home as our kitchen angels work their magic on Christmas treats.
We will be making sure that our residents have a terrific Christmas Day, complete with a fab Turkey dinner and all the trimmings. Who knows we may even catch a glimpse of Santa as he races around with his reindeer!
We hope you have a lovely Christmas, however you are spending it, and we look forward to seeing you all in the coming year.
We know there are a lot of people who want to know Santa’s exact whereabouts this evening. If you, or perhaps a child in your family, would like to follow Santa’s route around the world, you can do this with the aid of the Norad Santa Tracker app or online site. We have provided the links below so that no one misses out on the opportunity to see him and his reindeer move across the night sky on December 24th.
Residents at Bunkers Hill had a fantastic time recently, as we welcomed the Lincoln Christ’s Hospital School Choir to the home. They wowed us all with their beautiful voices and fabulous festive jumpers! Everyone felt as though the spirit of Christmas was well and truly in the air at the home.
A big thank you to them for visiting and giving our residents all such big smiles as we get closer and closer to Christmas!
Over the weekend here at Bunkers Hill, our residents and staff were treated to an excellent musical performance from the Birdcage Ukulele Orchestra – a local band that regularly practice at the Birdcage Pub in Lincoln! The band performed a selection of favourites from Christmas hits to well-known classics, withe everyone dancing and singing along.
It was an excellent afternoon that left everyone with big smiles on their faces – and the band have kindly offered to return for another performance in the New Year!
A big thank you to them for spreading so much joy to our residents at this time of year.
The lovely residents of Bunkers Hill had the opportunity to show their creativity recently when we had a delightful afternoon of festive crafting at the home. They made a wonderful selection of decorations and Christmas cards.
The session marked the start of our regular craft workshops that will be held every Wednesday afternoon – with everyone welcome to join in the fun! Our residents really enjoy being creative so the regular sessions are something they are really looking forward to!
Residents and Staff at Bunkers Hill had beaming smiles on their faces this week as a result of an Incredibly kind gesture on the part of Lincoln Dunelm. They sent the home a massive delivery of Christmas presents, with something for every resident. This was an incredibly kind and generous gesture, for which everyone is extremely grateful.
Every resident has a present bag along with a selection of games and festive treats – a perfect way to kickstart the festivities at the home! It has made everyone feel really special, and very much part of our local community. It is wonderful for us to think that people in local businesses are thinking of our residents at this time of year.
At this time of year, all our lovely residents and staff at Bunkers Hill start to get excited about the Christmas festivities that are just around the corner. Baubles are being dusted down, the scent of spice is in the home, and trees and lights are appearing. There’s even a suggestion that Santa will be paying us a visit at some stage.
He may even share a mince pie with us! What’s not to like?
Christmas is on its way here at Bunkers Hill, but first is the arrival of our lovely Activities lady Kate, and her mobile cheese tasting trolley!
She has been travelling around each of the units at the home and delivering our residents some delicious savoury treats, and a variety of different flavours.
It’s a great way of exploring new tastes that our residents might not have tried before, as well as popular favourites which bring back nostalgia.
