Out and About…..

A couple of our lovely residents at Bunkers Hill had a trip into town recently to bask in the wonderful sunshine we’ve been having – there were refreshing iced coffees and some delicious ice-creams on hand to help keep them cool as they sat outside in town.

It was a lovely morning all round and they are already looking forward to their next trip!

Feeling the Beat!

At Bunkers Hill, our lovely residents have been grooving to the beat and reminiscing about their favourite tunes. With smiles on their faces and laughter in the air, the residents and staff have been enjoying the benefits of music and movement. And the best part? They didn’t even have to leave their chairs!

Seated activities, such as dancing in chairs, are an excellent way for residents to stay active and engaged. Not only does it promote physical movement, but it also stimulates the mind and encourages social interaction. Plus, it’s a fun and accessible activity that can be enjoyed by people of all abilities.

Judging by the enthusiasm of the group, it’s clear that this week’s music and movement session was a hit. The residents are already looking forward to the next one, eager to continue their dance party and create more happy memories together.

Wonderful Feedback….

Here at Bunkers Hill we strive to make every day for our residents as good an experience as it possibly can be. So, when we receive feedback from family members like this review from Robyn it puts a huge smile on all of our faces. Knowing that our staff are constantly putting in hard work to make our residents feel as at home as possible, and that it is appreciated by family members is always lovely to hear.

Thank you to Robyn for leaving this lovely message.

Inspiring us all…..

The care sector simply wouldn’t function without the amazing efforts of the women who work in it. They devote themselves to the care of others, and each and every one of them deserves our gratitude and respect. As a care home we see the impact on our residents of their professionalism and compassion every day.

Today is International Women’s Day and we would like to take this opportunity to pay respect to all the female members of our staff team. We are proud to celebrate the amazing women who work here and make our care home a warm and welcoming place for everyone.

Tasty Treats….

There’s nothing like a warming bowl of soup at this time of year, and so our kitchen team here at Bunkers Hill have been whipping up a few flavours for our residents to enjoy. Last nights was a lovely Carro and Coriander soup, full of warming spices and complete with croutons and a swirl of cream – looks lovely. They didn’t forget those who have a sweet tooth either – so they made some yummy jam tarts.

Tasty treats all round!

Staying on an even keel

We know the importance of fall prevention at Bunkers Hill – it is something we spend a lot of time on. Recently we have teamed up with Imp Healthcare, to bring information and exercise for the staff and residents in the home. They have been stressing the importance of keeping moving to reduce the incidence and likelihood of falls.

An important session full of useful information and also great fun.

A day of activities and fun….

Our residents at Bunkers Hill recently welcomed the children from Carlton Day Nursery to spend some time with them. They played games involving balloons as well as partaking in some music and movement together.

There are many benefits for our residents to gain from this interaction, it made them active and was good for social interactivity and keeping the mind active as well as assisting in the boosting of their mental health.

Both our residents and the children thoroughly enjoyed their time together!
