At Bunkers Hill Care Home, we are looking forward to the beautiful sunny weather forecasted for the week ahead.

Our residents will be making the most of the warmer days by spending time in our lovely garden, enjoying the fresh air and sunshine in a safe and comfortable environment.

We’ll also be placing a strong emphasis on hydration and wellbeing, ensuring that everyone remains refreshed and cared for throughout the day.

Alongside outdoor relaxation, we have a full programme of activities and games planned, bringing lots of smiles, laughter, and opportunities for social engagement.

At Bunkers Hill, creating a vibrant and supportive atmosphere is at the heart of everything we do.

We’re celebrating this lovely Easter Sunday with a delicious lunch and lots of sweet treats for our residents to enjoy. The home is full of spring cheer, laughter, and togetherness.

Wishing all our families and friends a bright and beautiful Easter filled with love, joy, and new beginnings.

Thank you to everyone from Dynamic Dance who came and wowed our residents with your amazing performances. We were all taken back with all the talent everyone had, it was a well deserved ice lolly.

It’s always sad when someone you have known and worked alongside passes away. This was the case at Bunkers when we lost our lovely staff member Elaine not so long ago.

The staff at the home wanted to do something in her memory and as she was a cat lover we decided that it would be fitting to take a collection and donate to Cats Protection in her memory. A collection was held amongst the staff team and we raised £125!

Here is a picture of the donation being handed to Cats Protection. Elaine would have loved this and no doubt this donation will help many cats to lead a better life – just as she would have wanted.

At Bunkers Hill we do our very best to support not just our residents, but also their families, loved ones and friends as well.

Creating a mini loving community for a resident is so important to their wellbeing. So of course it’s lovely if we receive letters like the one shown here, from someone who has benefited from that holistic approach to our care giving. Thank you Malc and Marilyn for all your kind words. It was a pleasure having Michael with us for so long – he was a lovely resident who will be sorely missed. Please do pop in and see us whenever you are passing, it would be lovely to reminisce about Michael and his time with us.

Mother’s Day is extra special when we get to celebrate it with our incredible residents. Thank you to all the mums who call our home their own.

Your stories, laughter, and experiences inspire us all. We are sure you will have a great day with lots of visitors and Mother’s Day cards and presents. Here’s to making the day special for you.

A lot of our residents like a drink and a few snacks on a Frday night.

In days gone past they might have gone down their local and stayed for the evening…but these days they are a little more sedentary in their habits. So we brought the pub to Bunkers.

We held a pub night in the home with plenty of beer and nibbles for everyone to enjoy. Here are some pictures of some of our ‘likely lads’ having a beer….or two!

Whether you’re rocking your green attire or enjoying some Irish tunes, may the luck of the Irish be with you today and always.

All the staff and residents here at Bunkers Hill would like to say cheers to good times and great company this St Patrick’s Day!

Today is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality. The day has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people.

Women make up the vast majority of our staff here at Bunkers Hill and it’s a day we are proud to support and we want to take this opportunity to give a big shout out to all our female staff for the fantastic job they do every day!

Can mean only one thing – yes it’s Shrove Tuesday again and that means pancakes all round.

Get mixing!….At Bunkers our lovely residents and staff will help each other mix the all important batter. But the tricky part will be choosing what toppings to have – so many possibilities to pick from.

Lemon and sugar? Chocolate spread? Fruit and cream? What’s your favourite?
