We get some really great entertainers coming to Bunkers Hill and we were delighted when one of our activities staff’s Dad agreed to come and entertain our residents this past weekend! The song selection and vocals were both brilliant and everyone had a great time listening and singing along.

A very enjoyable day – he is welcome back anytime!

Our most recent Church Service held at the home was a very enjoyable time. There were lots of hymns for everyone to sing along to, as well as many of everyone’s preferred prayers read out.

A lovely experience which was enjoyed by all.

Safe to say that a lot of our residents here at Bunkers Hill are dog people! Animal therapy is not only great fun but always helpful for mental stimulation and emotional wellbeing, so as 3 gorgeous dogs visited the home all of our residents gave them a cuddle and pet, as you can see they loved the attention!

Lots of fun activities taking place at Bunkers Hill recently, starting off with some in-home exercise routines for everyone to use. We followed an instructional video on how to keep active without having to leave our chairs, perfect for some of our residents who are not as mobile as others.

We also took some time out of the day to create some friendship bracelets, a few of our residents linked them up and then added their own personal touches, whether that was little heart charms or something simple like their initial – a wonderful gesture of appreciation amongst everyone!

Our lovely residents are really in the spirit and enjoying this Easter Weekend. They have been busy preparing decorations for the home for the past week which is now full of everything chocolate, chicks and bunnies!

Here at Bunkers Hill, our residents were given a lovely surprise as they were visited by none other than the Easter Bunny! There were smiles and laughter throughout the home as the spirit of Easter weekend could be felt everywhere.

We are in for what should be a very fun and enjoyable weekend!

Mother’s Day is always a special day in the Calendar, and no more so than this year. Many of us won’t be able to be with our Mums today but that doesn’t mean we aren’t thinking of them and sending them our love.

They may be Mums who are sadly no longer with us, Mums who are nurses, carers and doctors working hard to keep us safe, Mums looking after us at home, or they may even be isolating because of the current situation – trying to keep themselves and others well. Wherever they may be and whatever they may be doing, here is a big shout out to all of them.

Mums really do make the world go round and today is their day!

Let’s celebrate all Mums, you are all much loved and cherished, and let’s hope they can stay safe, well and happy today .

Here’s to the Mums!

The new month looks like it’s going to be a busy one, with plenty going on – starting with St David’s Day today. Everything will go green for St Patrick’s Day, always a fun time and then we have Mother’s Day, where we celebrate fabulous Mums everywhere. We wrap up the month with Good Friday and the Easter weekend – time for an egg hunt or two!

On top of these celebrations, we will have lots going on at our home throughout the month, with lots of games and activities for our residents to enjoy. It certainly looks like being a busy and fun time for us all.

Here at Bunkers Hill, we like to say thank you to our staff members when they go the extra mile for our residents. Here are some lovely pictures of Fran and Kelly, both members of our kitchen team, getting some fizz for all their hard work.
